Acknowledging Worldly Turmoil
There are so many terrible things going on in the world today. There are wars, rumors of wars, people’s hearts are growing cold, and children are rising up against their parents just as Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24 NKJV. With all of these problems going on, what do we do as Christians? Do we put our heads in the sand like an ostrich and pretend that these problems are not there? Or do we pray and seek God to help the world with these problems?
Confronting Injustice with Faith
It is very difficult to see all the evil that is happening today. According to Worldometer (as of the time of writing – 06/02/2024), there have been close to 19 million abortions worldwide since the beginning of this year. This makes me so sad and angry that this sin is allowed. When I voted in 2016 during the presidential election, I voted for the candidate that wanted to save the most babies’ lives. I plan on voting the same way this coming fall. The current administration is full of evil, which makes it difficult to pray for such people. However, we must pray for our leaders, even if they are not living according to God’s ways (1 Timothy 2:1-3 NKJV)
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.” Psalms 139:13-14 NKJV

Embracing the Command to Love
It is difficult to love everyone, but we are commanded to love and pray for our enemies. They are God’s creation too (Matthew 5:44-48 NKJV). If there is someone that has wronged you in any way, I encourage you to forgive them and pray for them. Let God bring healing to your heart and give you peace as you learn to forgive those that have hurt you.
Experiencing Healing Through Forgiveness
I too, have felt betrayed and hurt in my life. It is the worst feeling when someone lies about you. It is so easy to let this betrayal eat at you until bitterness and anger arise. At some point, you have to let go of this anger and frustration, and forgive the one that has wronged you. When you do decide to take that step and give your anger and frustration over to the Lord, then you will have such a peace that comes over you. This is the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 NKJV).

Prayer for Forgiveness and Peace
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are so holy, amazing, and true! There is no one like You! Please help us today to forgive and pray for our enemies. We need Your love and peace to guide us as we seek Your face today on behalf of those that have hurt us. Many of us feel disgusted with the world and also with those in charge. We want to pray for those leaders to repent, to turn from their ways and to turn to You. We have hope, for no matter what is going on in this world, You have promised to never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV). One day, You will send Your Son, Jesus back to earth and we will forever be with You and Him. Resurrection Day will be amazing! There will be no evil, no tears, and no sorrow! All Your children will be in Your kingdom, worshiping You and giving You all the praise, glory, and honor. We look forward to this day! You are our hope during these dark times. Come Jesus, Come! We are waiting for Your return. Let Your will be done in Jesus’s name, Amen.
